More about THE CERAMIC CAFE
Fife's first ceramic painting cafe with a huge selection of pieces to paint, a cafe and soft play area.
Come and visit our paint-your-own pottery studio, enjoy a cappuccino and piece of our famous carrot cake, let the kids run riot in our soft play, then decorate a piece of ceramic for granny and grandad.
Established in 2005 as part of the ceramic experience franchise network the business is now independent and trading as The Ceramic Cafe.
Located close to Dunfermline town centre, we have free parking at the door and easy access to our bright and airy studio.
We have a vast choice of bisque (unpainted pottery!) to paint - from mugs and teapots to puppies and robots. Just choose what you want to decorate and let your imagination run wild.
Don’t worry if you think you are not artistic. Our friendly staff are on hand to help you get started, with tips and advice on using stamps and writing pens to create something which you or your kids will treasure.

"What a fantastic night we have had tonight. Adults painting session. Loads of things to choose from, delicious cakes - with gluten free options which is fab, and the staff we so friendly. We will be back. Can’t recommend this place enough! Love coming here with my nephew too. Thanks again for a great night."
"Very friendly and accommodating staff, lovely, simple sandwich and lunch options. Great for a coffee and catch up with friends! Made many a birthday/Father’s Day/Xmas gifts to give family members from my daughter! Make lovely keepsakes ???? highly recommend and now a regular customer!"
"This is one my 5yo granddaughter’s favourite places and has been since long before the current owners took over. Happy to say that they have continued to improve and grown with fresh ideas and ever changing wide selection of items for kids and grown ups to paint. We always get a warm welcome, staff are friendly and chatty with Iris but my experience of many hours spent there is that they are great with all the kids.On a recent visit, Iris lifted a pot of paint but the previous user hadn’t put the lid back on properly. She was left with the lid in her hand, frozen wit horror as bright yellow paint spilled down her leggings, trainers and over the floor. She fled to the loo in tears but Stuart was so lovely mopping up and reassuring her not to worry and thanks to him, I was able to persuade her to stay have a toastie and a piece of carrot cake then return to the painting table to start again. They have a good selection of snacks for lunches at very reasonable prices. Fruit, gluten free and Vegan available too as well as fab cakes, tray bakes and shortbread. Highly recommend the carrot cake!"
